According to the news released on the website of the Ministry of foreign affairs of Belarus on the same day, the meeting was chaired by foreign minister maki of Belarus. Representatives of participating countries exchanged views on current international hot issues and deepening CIS internal cooperation, and discussed the situation in the CIS and surrounding regions, especially in Central Asia.
In his speech, maki called on CIS Member States to strengthen multilateral interaction and regional cooperation to address common challenges and threats.
The meeting signed a series of documents aimed at deepening CIS cooperation in the diplomatic, cultural and humanitarian fields. The meeting adopted the joint statement of the foreign ministers of CIS members on strengthening the biological weapons convention, approved a series of draft joint declarations of the heads of state of CIS member states on the 30th anniversary of the founding of CIS, cooperation in the field of biosafety and immigration, and formulated a multi-level consultation plan for the foreign affairs departments of CIS members in 2022.
The meeting also considered the regulations of the International Association of historians and archivists of CIS member states. The establishment of the association will help to disseminate objective information about the Second World War and the Patriotic War and protect the historical heritage and truth.
The meeting decided that the next meeting of the CIS foreign ministers' council would be held in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, in April 2022.
