Xishuangbanna State Party committee proposed to implement the action of rainforest restoration and strengthen the restoration of Asian elephant habitat and food source; The strategic objectives of implementing the action of returning the rainforest, carrying out the forest ecological transformation of tea gardens, the return of the ecological environment of ancient tea gardens and the construction of biodiversity rubber plantations. In promoting the tropical rain forest restoration project, we should make bold innovation and try first, adopt the model of fund-raising by the government and the tropical rain forest foundation, eco-tourism enterprises participating in the operation, villagers providing rubber land and low-yield tea garden for compensation, and participate in the management and protection, so as to explore a win-win way of ecological protection and villagers' income increase.
According to preliminary statistics, since the tropical rain forest restoration project was launched in 2018, more than 30000 trees have been planted in the whole state, with a repaired rain forest area of more than 400 mu, and 280 mu of permanently recovered cultivated land for Biodiversity Restoration, so as to build a wildlife feeding and activity site dominated by Asian elephants, so as to promote the improvement of the quality of wildlife habitat. The tropical rain forest foundation cooperates with the international environmental protection organization Greenpeace to remove invasive plants, introduce Asian elephants' favorite plants, expand the habitat area and reduce the pressure of Asian elephants on surrounding communities within the total area of 1100 mu of Lianhuatang and liangshuiqing in mengyangzi reserve, Xishuangbanna National Nature Reserve（ Reporter Dai Zhenhua)
